Wellbeing spaces with central London Views

Overview

The 12th floor HQ – located on the waterfront at Canary Wharf – revolves around circular economy principles defined in a robust sustainability strategy by tp bennett, with a strong focus on minimising embodied and operational carbon throughout all design aspects.

These efforts extend to the building’s water and waste management, as well as the use of biophilia and furniture, which is made up of 80% reused existing materials.

TP Bennett chose ecorok™ as the ideal surface material as it is made from 85% recycled waste glass and therefore matched this sustainable projects ethos.

ANZ’s spatial planning was determined largely by the orientation of the Cargo building. tp bennett placed working areas along the east, north and west-facing sides of the building to reduce window glare and make the most of the Central London views, while all communal areas (a meeting suite, wellbeing area and ‘social zone’) have direct access to an outside terrace.

As well as providing workers access to fresh air, this space doubles as a mindfulness retreat for relaxation, low-impact exercise and prayer – a sanctuary away from the hubbub of the office and the city below.
